I think someone is attempting a takeover
There have been a lot of password reset requests associated with this blog sent to my email account, so I think someone wants to somehow take control of it. Or maybe I for some reason clicked the "forgot password" button in Chinese about 6 or 7 times, but I certainly don't remember doing so. In any case, I just finished class and I have a lot of homework to do today. I have a vocabulary test tomorrow, plus a speech in two separate classes and a dialogue to write for another, and a worksheet (though I really enjoy filling out worksheets). Writing all that out makes it seem pretty serious, but it doesn't seem like it will be all that difficult to complete. Each individual item isn't too bad, but taken together it seems my teachers were being a little mischievous when they planned this week's assignments.
On another note, I'm glad to be here. I'm learning a lot about life, and about myself. That's something that you can do anywhere, but starting life over in a new society certainly helps it along. I'm having fun and learning at a good pace, which is basically all I could ask for from this semester. Plus, I have some interesting neighbors in my apartment building. One is the editor for a Taiwanese newspaper, and the other is a French guy who works in the perfumery business but is taking a break to study Chinese at National Taiwan Normal University. He's a very nice guy, though like many of my friends here, significantly older than me. I would say most of my friends here are at least 3 years older than me, and commonly more than 5 years older. Right now, however, I have to go meet my youngest friend, just graduated from Reed College, to study. He still seems a lot older than me, though - I am known for having a "babyface" here. I find it persistently bizarre how many Taiwanese know the word "babyface" in English, and how quickly they find a way to mention it to me in practically any situation. However, it really is pretty interesting, and I think also beneficial, to hang out with lots of people above my age. People generally hang out only with their peers until they graduate from college, so it's a good opportunity for me.

haha~ There are some English words widely used in Taiwan that it becomes natural for people to use it in daily life, even if the words have equivalents in Chinese!
also, nobody doesn't know the word "baby" and "face" is such a simple one even for beginners in English~ oh, you know that English is an required subject even in elementary school, don't you? anyway, enjoy your babyface XD

All that is true... But there is a big difference between knowing the words "baby" and "face" and knowing how to use the term "babyface." I'm just impressed, that's all :)
